WE HAVE GOATS

Where the air thins and legends live.

If you’re after a hunt that tests your grit, rewards your patience, and puts you face-to-face with one of North America’s most iconic and elusive trophies, look no further.

Welcome to the Roof of the Rockies. In the East Kootenays of British Columbia, sheer cliffs, alpine basins, and jagged peaks form the perfect backdrop for a true mountain hunt.

Here, the Mountain goat reigns supreme — white-coated sentinels of the heights, rarely seen or easily reached. The East Kootenays hold some of the best mountain goat populations in Canada. With experienced guides and prime habitat, our hunts offer great opportunity to harvest a mature billy with a thick, shaggy coat and horn lengths averaging 9”. Whether you hike in or use horses, you'll earn every step of this hunt — and every inch of that trophy.

This hunt is not for the faint of heart. For those seeking the adventure of a true alpine hunt and memories few others can claim. Your story begins where most end, let the FCO team help you achieve the sense of accomplishment that only comes from earning your trophy at elevation.

HUNT SEASON:
OCTOBER 15th - NOVEMBER 30th.

The opportunity to harvest a mature billy is at your fingertips!
Our exclusive guiding area produces an abundance of mountain goats with large bases and great length.

Our self-imposed billy goat harvest and diverse ecosystem support a healthy breeding population. For this reason, it is not uncommon to see as many as 20 mountain goats a day.

Horseback hunts are conducted from one of our three well -equipped cabins within the Purcell Wilderness Conservancy. A large portion of your time will be spent riding, glassing and hiking once your Billy is spotted.

We utilize enclosed, heated side by sides to access the drivable portion of the territory from the comforts of base camp. Logging roads are utilized to access mountain goat habitat and glass the surrounding mountains. Good access and a healthy population avoid the need for 3,000m hikes, that is for those of you who dont have it your legs. For those of you looking to suffer, welcome to the pain cave!

We run our season from October 15 – November 30 to ensure your desiered trohy has established a thick winter coat.
